I seem to have a problem getting up in the morning. Unless I have to, I find myself very keen not to rise in the morning early - not through tiredness but through basically not wanting to. This has to change if I'm going to fulfill my ambition to run an Ultra this summer. Early morning runs is where I'm at my best. It's just that when you spend most of your working life getting up at 4:30am, you appreciate a lie in.
Beginning to get to grips with my diet. When you put in a lot of mileage you tend to eat alot. My goal of reaching a running/racing weight of 68 kg has to be stage managed.
Aside from all that, summer arrived this evening and after a stroll with Iwetta and the dogs on the beach, I headed off for my daily Knocknarea loop at 8pm.
Run - 10 mile loop plus 1 mile on pitch with strides.
Time - 1:37:21
Av pace - 8:49 min/mi
8:26, 8:07, 8:47, 12:10, 10:21, 7:50, 7:45, 8:12, 9:21, 7:52, 8:06
Found run quite tough and this, I feel, is in keeping with running too late in the evening. I enjoyed the slightly faster last mile. I'm going to add two days speedwork next week. This will add strenght and endurance in the long term.
No exercise !
Sligo Rovers 0 Dundalk 1 - Shock !
